What Is Roco?
Welcome to the Rochester Coalition! The Rochester Coalition was created by forming a partnership between Rochester Youth Hockey League and Village Sports/Rochester Grizzlies as the most innovative player-focused youth hockey program in New York State. The Coalition takes pride in the success of all our teams and the individual accomplishments of each of our players, on and off the ice.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop hockey players so that they may reach their highest potential, both on and off the ice, no matter what level of hockey that may be. To provide a quality character-building opportunity to carry them beyond hockey and into their lives. We use the John Wooden Pyramid of Success as a basis for our character program development. The Coalition Program develops and maximizes ice hockey player growth potential with a full season schedule of on-ice and off-ice training through an elite hockey program. We strive to excel on ice through effective practice-to-game ratios and maximize a consistent strength, conditioning, and skill development program. Along with successful team-building exercises, community service efforts, mental training, and scholastic support, we provide a program that will put all of our players in a position to achieve their highest potential.
ROCO Philosophy
Success! We will define success not by wins and losses, but by the efforts given by our players both as individuals and as a team. Character is the common denominator of success! Building character is the primary goal of the Coalition Hockey program. We will set high standards and hold players and families accountable to those standards in an effort to help build the character of each player. They will combine this with the ability to work together as a team to accomplish their goals.
